I’m a designer from the Netherlands that loves working with interactivity and user interfaces.

I work at the boundary between code and design. I craft websites, apps and useful tools with great fondness for a unique experience. Design for the look & feel and code for the functionality.

Boeddo.com is my creative space and digital playground. It’s the place where I create new things.

Besides working on this site, I’m product designer at Toast. I’m very enthusiastic when it comes to new tools. Making life a bit easier is what I love to do.

Design is all about shapes, art, colors, typography & photos. Everything around you is designed, created by nature or creative people. It is a very important part of our lives. When I design a website, each pixel is important. You decide where the image will appear on the page and you have to decide the layout.

The guys Martin van Kranenburg and Laurens Boex made a Dutch whitepaper about influence and design. It is called Online Beïnvloeden and is free to download. The whitepaper will learn you how to influence people online. If you are Dutch, make sure to read it!

A good-looking website is essential and a good design will make the user experience better. More and more people have a mobile phone, which means that every website should be optimized for all devices. I design websites for your mobile phone, tablet, PC, TV, etc.

Today learning how to code is extremely important. Some say learning how to code teaches you how to think. Each computer system is programmed, your mobile phone is programmed, almost everything is programmed. Can we live without code?

My coding skills include HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery & PHP. The basic coding skills for web design are HTML and CSS. HTML for the text and CSS for the layout. The last one is very important. Design decides whether the visitor looks further or leave the page.

I combine my coding skills to make an awesome website or web app. Another important thing is that your website must be in the search results. I won’t stop programming your website until it appears in the search results. There are about 200 tricks to optimize your site. I apply a lot of tricks to your website and I build your website in a proper manner.

I was playing with a logo in Adobe Illustrator. I wanted to make an elephant, but when I was making it, I saw a goat in the elephant. So I worked it out and it became a logo.

The website Cotton Bureau collects the best designs in the world and makes T-shirt from it. I just tried and submitted the logo to the company. And after 2 days it got approved! So Cotton Bureau is going to make real T-shirts with my logo!

Pizza Riva is a Dutch company by two people who bake pizza’s at events and parties. Pizza Riva has a mobile pizza car, which makes it possible to deliver delicious hot pizza’s to people.

The project

I was asked to create a new Pizza Riva site with a seamless reading experience. It had to be clean and simple, so all kind of people were able to order Pizza Riva. More and more people visit websites from their mobile devices. That means that websites should be mobile-friendly. I created a responsive website for Pizza Riva. Why not check it out?

Niels Dommisse is a Dutch reviewer. He is founder of the company House Of Reviews. House Of Reviews is all about reviews and announcements of the best concerts, theater, events and music CDs & DVDs.

The project

Niels approached me to design a new corporate identity for his company. I designed a new and fresh logo and identity. The logo is tight and the HEX colors for the company are cool blue, combined with gray and white.

Expreszo Clean, a product by Firanko Techniek, is designed to prevent cleansers, which are necessary in order to make coffee machines to be cleaned, to corrode or remain in the coffee machine. By taking up the cleanser in a path, this can only be found on the areas that need to be cleaned.

The project

Together with Reinier van Dijk from DUNKT, I developed the front-end and back-end for the Expreszo Clean site. It was a cool experience to work at the headquarters of the company. Because of that, I was able to ask all my questions to the client whenever I wanted. The result is a clean Dutch website with interesting information about coffee. Take a look!
